2023 SUBMISSIONS WILL START 4/20
Sign up below to get emails about next year’s submission process (or really for us to email you to remind you to submit). This year we’re taking submissions 4/20 to 7/10, selections announced in late July, and the fest happening the 12-14 of October. Few basics for those interested in submitting:
All national selections get a hotel paid by the festival, but you’ll be sharing with another selection.
Fest hotel is directly off the light rail line so you can watch people in Minneapolis pretend it’s a big city.
Selected performers get a minimum of 2 shows each,
One big change this year: we’re bringing in a smaller number of submissions.
We’re using 3 theaters, and are going to be focused on more overall theater style shows, with them making up ~1/2 of the venues.
These shows are usually with bigger comics, who’s fans want them doing a full 60 minute set, which just net means we can’t fit as many comics.
In 2019 we had a rule of no repeat submissions if you’ve been selected in the last 4 years. Since the stupid plague, we’re very much in a “fuck it” mindset and have no rules relegated to prior performers submitting/selecting this year.
